Hope! The fuel for life…

Every time I go out travelling to different places I learn something new and this time was no different. I spent a week on the western coast of India. Its spectacular view, amazing food and warm hearted people made my trip pleasant. During my stay I experienced a lot of things but this one will remain in my heart forever.

I was standing there staring at the bright, bold Sun on the west, while the soft breeze kissed my face. He looked like an emperor ruling the whole sky and the sky surrendering to his charm and blending with his shades. His warmth was overwhelming the whole existence. I walked closer to him, pressing my feet on the wet sand while the frothy waves swept over. The deeper I got into the sea, the farther was I pushed back. My competitor was strong, she was raising high towards him and falling back miserably. She was failing over and over again but she never gave up! The closer he got to the horizon, higher she jumped to reach him. I stood there confused and mump for a moment to understand what was happening. Then I realized that I was just intimidated by his beauty, but she was in love with him from the beginning of time.

Time passed by and he went down so quickly. Suddenly, I saw her crying out loud. She was hitting herself to the oceans feet with pain and the rhythmic sound of her fall was no longer jubilating my soul. Then her brother came up and lit the sky with his calmness. His friends drew beautiful pictures on the black canvas. The whole sky looked like it was smiling and patiently looking over her. Yet, she continued crying. I asked her brother, “Oh dear moon, how do we calm your sister?”  And he replied with a smile, “I will take care of her like I do every single day”

After their talk she was peaceful than before. I was amazed! Then the moon explained to me, that we all live with a feeling of hope! There is always an energy that drives us to the next moment and life is a collection of those moments. We keep our clothes ready and vegetables chopped every single night so that we are not late the next day. We spend almost 10 – 15 years for our lives going to school and college so that we get a job someday. We eat clean, drink more water, and hit the gym every now and then to stay healthy. We save money to buy a house or a car or just some clothes to make our lives comfortable. We dream of our own fairytale universe where a perfect prince/princess enters our lives and we live happily ever after. The farmers sow the seeds just before monsoon and wait for the rains and oncologists treat their patients with what they can and wish to keep them alive for long. This just doesn’t stop here. It’s a lifelong process which keeps us alive.

Well, in reality we might not have done all these but I am sure some of you out there would have done at least a few. Nature is the best teacher. It is all in our perspective how we see things and learn our lessons. And remember, life doesn’t stop if you fail or if someone leaves you, stay with a hope that keeps the fire within you alive!
